She was left at the temple as an infant by her father, [[Guile Schmidt]] and raised as Harperia Vellarin. When she was 18, she was told of the truth of her arrival at the temple, and after three years of prayer and consideration, she took the opportunity to leave the temple and go search for her parents. The rest of the temple saw it as a way for her to be a wandering missionary, so the news that she had become an adventurer did not go down well at home. Her mentor [[Elza Monanzu]] dissuaded her from going, and [[Mother Superior Elana Laiawyn]] has banished Harperia from the temple for the next eight months. In Magus Port, Harperia made a deal with [[The Lord Protector]] for information about her parents which resulted in her being cloned. She obtained memory sand, which showed memories of her father leaving her at the temple while saying she would be better off without him, and singing the lullaby about how she is the progeny of the tiefling empire. He also left her with a small carved owlbear, which is why she is so into [[Gary Owlbear]]. The second memory showed Guile Schmidt and his brother, [[Unnamed Schmidt Brother]], changing from travelling criminals where Guile shielded his brother from the worst of it, to Guile slowly manipulating his brother into a dead-eyed knifeman. Harperia has an interesting relationship with much of the party. [[Alyra Bogwalker]] once used Zone of Truth to get Harperia to admit that her deepest desire was to have a family, and that if push came to shove she would give up the party to be with her father. [[Bog McGee]] used their hag hair to spy on Harperia’s meeting with the Lord Protector. Harperia is finding solace in her relationship with [[Colm]], who appears to understand that she is motivated by good and the desire to reform her father. After some not-so-gentle chastisement, Harperia has a positive relationship with [[Strauss]] and was responsible for essentially adopting [[Ash Luminous Blackheart]] after realising he was a good and pure man who needed a home. She needs to pray more to [[Selûne]]. Harperia is somehow causing more than her fair share of problems for the party (see the run-in with the Inquisition, the whole 'I support my Papa' nonsense) so if this ends up with a TPK, Harperia may or may not have considerably contributed. Is very into [[Lucretia Dheku]], has to be chill for a few weeks before they talk about what the fuck this is after they kissed in Rufus’s house. Was originally Harperia Vellarin, but began adopting father’s surname, and was legally changed by [[Gilliam Grace]] in Session 16. She is deeply motivated by her desires to be loved, to have a family and to have a home, which has only been exacerbated by her banishment from the temple. Met with Guile in Session 17. Opted to be taught a lesson, rather than take the chance to have Guile walk out of her life again. "All you need to decide is who you are. Whether you're a fanciful dreamer or a serious person, whether you are a wandering healer apostate of the temple of Selune, or the High Cleric of the Hand of Septice, whether you are Harperia Vellarin or you are Harperia Schmidt. Are you who you have always been, or with the dawn in the morning, are you potentially who you were always meant to be? That's up to you, my dear." Harperia made, what already appears to have been, the wrong decision.
